Since having my autoimmune flare over the holidays, I have been really going back to basics when it comes to my health. I have been focusing on eating healthy, taking my supplements, sleeping (if my baby allows) and getting in healthy movement. One of the supplements that I have started taking again after forgetting to take it for about a month is my fermented cod liver oil from green pastures.
I have taken cod liver oil off and on since I was about 8 years old. As in, I take it except for when I forget to take it. A few years ago (2021?) I was listening to the Wise Traditions Podcast from the West A. Price Foundation. In one of their episodes they were talking about how much better fermented cod liver oil was better for you than just regular cod liver oil.
Does fermented cod liver oil taste bad?
No. When I learned about fermented cod liver oil, I was intrigued by the idea but also repulsed by what I thought it would taste like. But after some time I decided to try it. I tried the green pastures fermented cod liver oil with cinnamon oil in it. It’s really not bad at all. In fact, I prefer the flavor to normal cod liver oil I have been taking since I was little.
Do your kids take it/like it?
Yes and Yes. I also started giving it to my littles, my oldest is not the biggest fan of it but she does not mind taking it. However my middle two who I have taken it with in pregnancy absolutely love it! In fact they beg for second each day. I also give some to my almost nine month old baby and she doesn’t hate it.
What Green Pastures products do you like?
We mainly use these three products from Green Pastures, fermented cod liver oil with cinnamon oil, fermented cod liver oil with concentrated butter oil and virgin coconut oil.
Fermented Cod Liver Oil Capsule with Concentrated Butter Oil

This is the one that I am currently taking. I really like the fact that it has the concentrated butter oil added to it. If you are really nervous about the taste (it’s really not bad) than capsules are a great option for you.
Fermented Cod Liver Oil with Cinnamon Oil

This is the one that my kids are taking and they are loving it! We just about need to place another order to get some more because it is so popular. The cinnamon adds are really great flavor to it and helps with blood sugar regulation throughout the day.
Blue Breeze Organic Virgin Coconut Oil | Green Pasture

Though our family is not dairy free, I still good dairy free for other people sometimes. Also, we use coconut oil in some of our favorite recipes such as our PB protein balls. If you’re looking for a delicious, not super coconutty coconut oil without a weird after taste at a great price than this is for you! I love that I can buy a gallon at a time to save money and on plastic waste.
