Nothing quite hits the spot like ice cream with hot fudge sauce on top. This easy to make, delicious hot fudge sauce recipe will knock your socks off.

I love a good ice-cream desert, especially with toppings. Unfortunately, most ice-cream toppings are filled with corn syrup, dyes and nasty preservatives. The great news is that making your own hot fudge sauce at home is super easy and tastes way better.
My sister and I found this recipe several years ago and tweaked it until it was just how we liked it. Not only is it delicious it is also easy to make in large batches for a party. Infact, we have served this recipe along with my caramel sauce recipe (coming soon) at several parties and weddings.

Serve it hot
This is truly a hot fudge sauce recipe. This fudge sauce with cocoa powder, must be served warm/hot or it is at a solid state. A small crockpot or placing it in a hot water bath is the perfect wat to serve it.
Can I make this dairy free?
In theory yes. However, since there is so much dairy in this recipe, I would have to do some testing to figure out a new recipe. I think some of my sisters (Tori I am talking about you) and my mom would love to help with taste testing. If I figure out a dairy free recipe I will post it.

How long does it last in the refrigerator?
At least a month. However, I know that I have eaten this fudge sauce when it has been in the refrigerator for over six months. To be on the safe side, I would recommend using it within a month. One of the great things about this recipe is that because it stores so well you can make it the week before your party to save time in the days and hours leading up to it.
Does it freeze well?
Yes, it can freeze for up to a year just fine. Just remember to give yourself enough time to thaw it out and warm it up before the time to serve it.
