Growing up we used Lawry’s seasoned salt on just about everything. I loved it! Then we learned that it had MSG in it and that we react to it. In the last few years I have experimented with making my own seasoning salt. Then I learned about the Pluck seasonings and it sparked an idea to add the nutrient boost of liver powder to it.
It has been a year now that I have been making it with the liver powder and I love it! Recently I added stinging nettle powder to add even more nutrients. This is great addition to any savory dish. As you can see in the pictures, I make large batches because I go through my small spice jar of it almost every week.
Why Make Your Own Pluck Seasoned Salt Recipe?
While you can buy it, it is cheaper to make it yourself, especially if you make it in bulk. Making it yourself allows you to make sure it does not contain any ingredients that you don’t want.
Cooking from scratch is only sustainable is you have ways to make it easier. Seasoning blends such a pluck seasoning salt, fajita seasoning and taco seasoning make it easier, healthier and faster to get food from scratch on the table multiple times a day.
I Can’t Find Liver Powder, Do I Need To Use It?
No you don’t. Leave it our or substitute it for another organ meat powder. However it is easy to make yourself if you have access to grass fed beef liver.
