Take your yogurt to a whole new level with this crunchy granola! We love it plain, chocolate covered (Yum!) or on top of yogurt. I have been making this granola for over ten years now and have tweaked it little by little to get it exactly right.
In our family this crunchy granola along with muffins and peanut butter balls are our staple foods. Every day my husband eats this granola with yogurt for breakfast. I make gallons of it at a time (not an exaggeration) we go through a gallon every other week.
Can I Make This Crunchy Granola Gluten Free?
Absolutely! Just use GF rolled oats and make sure your other ingredients haven’t been contaminated.
Does It Store Well?
Yes, I have stored it for up to six months and it still tastes great! I am sure it would last much longer than that but we always eat it so fast I never have a chance to find out.
Can I Leave Out The Cinnamon?
Of course. I love cinnamon and I think it adds a really nice flavor, however this recipe does not taste cinnamon-y.
Can I Use Sugar Instead of Honey?
No. I have tried it a few times and it just ends up being oil coated oats with sugar ball randomly in it. It is quite gross actually.
Can I Use Maple Syrup Instead Of Honey?
I don’t see why not. Actually it sound absolutely delicious, but I have not tried it before.
Can I Use Coconut Oil Instead Of Olive Oil?
I have not tried that mostly because of how expensive coconut oil is so I cannot say for sure. However I would have some concerns about the texture of the crunchy granola once it is cooled.
Can I Add Dried Fruit To The Crunchy Granola?
Yes! Simply mix in whatever dried fruit you want as soon as you pull it out of the oven. If you try and bake the granola with the dried fruit in it the dried fruit will burn to a crisp.
How Do I Make This Chocolate Covered Crunchy Granola?
Simply mix in your favorite chocolate bar or chips as soon as you pull it out of the oven. Let it sit for a few minutes and melt the chocolate then stir in up to coat the granola.
Oops I Burned It, Now What?
This recipe is really easy to burn it happens to me a lot. However as long as it is not completely charcoal simply blend it in with your non burned crunchy granola.
Can I Store The Crunchy Granola In A Plastic Container?
Yes as long as it is cooled. If your are going to store it in a plastic container I would first put it in a metal or glass bowl to cool completely.
Help! The Granola Has Cooled On The Pan And Won’t Come Off
