
As a stay-at-home mom who doesn’t have a smart phone podcasts are something I really enjoy. Especially ones that motivate me to keep going on the hard but very good job of being a homemaker. Though I don’t agree with everything in them I find them to be a source of encouragement and help me to build my skills. I hope you enjoy these 5 great podcasts for homemakers as much as I do!
My Favorite Podcast for Homemakers: Homemaker Chic
Homemaker Chic is the first podcast for homemakers that I stumbled upon. It is still my favorite to listen to and I eagerly anticipate each episode. Hosted by Angela Reed of Parisienne Farmgirl blog and Shaye Elliot of The Elliot Homestead, listening to them talk and discuss home life reminds me of talking with my sisters about life.
Why is it great?
- Understands homesteading and the unique challenges that it brings.
- Call us to be more than a hot-mess mom.
- Inspirational and informative.
The Art of Home
The Art of Home Podcast is hosted by Allison Weeks. Allison’s goal is to encourage and equip this next generation of homemakers (a.k.a. us) with the wisdom from those who have gone before them. She has both Deep Dives where she explores a topic for the whole episode and Homemaker Portraits where she interviews homemakers in different stages of life.
Why is it great?
- Great interviews with homemakers in various stages of life.
- Allison has a calming voice to listen to.
- Glean a nugget of truth or a skill from each episode.
Honey I’m Homemaker
Join Megan and Jana in this fun, chatty podcast about all things homemaking. Great for a fun listen while washing dishes or doing laundry. Not as much about skill building but very entertaining.
Why is it great?
- Learn about the Mennonite culture from cousins.
- Listen to girl chat while doing your dishes or laundry.
House Rules
As someone who is trying to learn home decor this podcast is perfect! Myquillyn Smith walks you through the process of decorating your home from start to finish. She talks about principles or “rules” to teach you how to achieve the look you want for your home.
Why is it great?
- Myquillyn walks you through the design process step by step.
- Her process works on any budget.
- Explains why your attempts don’t look right.
The Keeper of the Home
I love the title for this podcast! My favorite episode is the one where she reads the short story ” When Queens Ride By” Keeper of the Home Podcast | iHeart. Frequently after listening to this podcast I am left pondering important questions about my home. Does it reflect us? If it does, does it reflect what I want it to? Hosted by Cami of the blog Tidbits – Inspiration for the Keeper of the Home (tidbits-cami.com) it calls us as homemakers to rise above the messes of life.
Why is it great?
- Asks deep questions.
- Great home decor information.
- Covers a variety of topics.
